Many years ago, before I had children, I worked at The Organic Pharmacy. It was my first foray into the world of organic & chemical free cosmetics. The company was in its infancy, but the company directors were innovative and ambitious. The Organic Pharmacy has gone from strength to strength since they started and now have stores in across London, in Beverly Hills and their products are used in 5* spas across the globe. They carefully source their ingredients and, I’m not sure about now, but when I worked at their Covent Garden store they knew many of their suppliers personally, so they could ensure their high standards were adhered to.
I have not been asked to write a review this time, I just decided they deserved a mention because I’ve been an expert in the field of natural cosmetics for a long time now, and for me, they are still the best. If I had unlimited cash, I would buy all of my stuff from The Organic Pharmacy.
If you’ve never heard of The Organic Pharmacy, it might be because they mainly frequent the pages of publications such as Vogue & Harpers Baazar. They don’t sell their products through large discount websites, and they are an expensive & luxurious brand. If you really want to use the best organic products money can buy, and you want to feel like you’re able to pamper yourself without the dreadful toxins that are contained in most premium brand cosmetics & bodycare products, then invest in something from these guys, they really know how to create high-end cosmetics.
In celebration of this lovely company, with a serious dedication to organic, chemical free products I’m going to do an impromptu review of their fabulous mascara. People always comment on my lashes in pictures, and I always say the same thing “it’s all an illusion!” My eyelashes are astoundingly average, not particularly long, thick or curly. In fact, here’s a picture to illustrate their averageness…

…with one coat of The Organic Pharmacy Mascara…

And with three coats, and the lower lashes done too…

I did a picture with two coats but deleted it in a moment of scattiness! I like loads of mascara, so I usually do three coats. I always use an eyelash curler before I apply my mascara and I sometimes comb through the lashes between coats if I have time (which I usually don’t!) but I didn’t in these pics.
I have used a tonne of different natural/toxin free make-up brands (Lavera, Jane Iredale, Zu Zu etc) and this IS the best mascara. It took them ages to release it because they were tinkering with the formulation so much, but they got this just right! The majority of natural mascaras are useless, they are flaky or they don’t add volume to the lashes. Although this one’s pricey, it’s comparable to brands such as Bobbi Brown (£18) and Tom Ford Beauty (£32). I used to use Clinique but once I had stopped using chemical brands I found I couldn’t use it even on special occassions. Once I discovered The Organic Pharmacy mascara I was over the moon because the performance easily matches the Clinique High Impact mascara AND it doesn’t leave my eyes looking red and sore! Yippee!
I definite must-have if you’re a dedicated organic beauty girl! Happy Lashing!
Peace. x
