I believe that children know so much more than society gives them credit for.
Tabitha has often told me things about her experience in utero, and she also seems completely connected to her baby brother and can tell me how he’s feeling at times when I’m finding it hard to figure out what he wants.
Today Tabitha told me this:
“Mummy, when we all die the sky will become completely black and the sky and the oceans will become one…because the sky has always wanted to be the sea…and then the whole world will be a beautiful stream”
I was awestruck. She’s 3!
We are letting her make her own decisions about her beliefs, so I’ve never suggested anything about the universe, religion, spirituality- or anything of that nature. I figure she’ll arrive at her own beautiful conclusion.
And it seems as though she already knows a lot more than a large proportion of the disconnected adults in this Earth.
Trust children, let them believe in everything they know to be true. I’m so proud to have birthed this wise, knowing little soul. I hope I can keep her trusting in herself.
Peace. x
